About THE OWNER

Deandra Fisher is the proud owner of More Words My Way, LLC. Deandra Fisher is a Licensed and ASHA Certified Speech Language Pathologist . She has served her community as a SLP for 15 years and counting. Deandra has worked in a variety of settings, such as, hospitals, clinics, home health, nursing homes and school settings.

Deandra loves working with both children and adults of different ages and with different areas of needs. She has experience working with individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cognitive and Behavior Disorders.

Her passion is working to empower every individual that comes to her clinic with the ability to communicate and thrive within their surroundings.

About Us

More Words, My Way, LLC is an outpatient clinic that offers clients of different ages the ability to empower their unique voice whether its through the ability to communicate verbally or through augmentative and alternative forms of communication (AAC). Our goal is to help each client improve their communication with their families, friends and those within their community.

TREATMENT

AAC THERAPY-This therapy focuses on the use of low and high tech augmentative communication systems to customize your exact needs.

ARTICULATION- This therapy focusing on improving your ability to articulate sounds and words.

FLUENCY (STUTTERING)- This therapy offers ways to help manage stuttering and also improve the negative feelings that can accompany stuttering.

LANGUAGE- This therapy offers ways to help with receptive, expressive and social language difficulties.

ASSESSMENTS

At More Words My Way, LLC we provide both Speech Language and Assistive Technology Assessments. An initial assessment may extend up to two separate sessions depending on the nature of the evaluation and the client's needs. Our goal is to make sure the data we gather is valid and beneficial to meeting the client's needs.

The Assistive Technology assessments may also involve ongoing therapy sessions targeting the appropriate communication system for that individual. Additionally , a representative from a variety of companies (i.e., Tobii Dynavox, PRC-Satillo, etc.) may need to come out and complete their own assessment to collect additional information.

At More Words My Way, LLC we understand the importance of every SLP having an array of different skills sets to meet the needs of their clients.

We offer AAC Consultations and Trainings to other Speech Language Pathologists, SLP Assistants, Applied Behavior Analysis Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Teachers, Teacher Assistants and other Professionals.

We work on learning how to use both high and low tech AAC systems, how to program and/or make customized modifications based on the client's needs. We also offer ways to help improve functional day to day and academic use of their communication systems.
